To all those we have lost to sickness, the streets, and personally: R.I.P.
What does it take to be an Urban Missionary on the streets of America? Does it take a seminary or theology degree? Does it require special gifts or talents? Does it take church sponsorship or financial backing? Where do you start? Do you have what it takes to challenge what is killing the helpless and hopeless in our cities? Find out as you walk in the shoes of Urban Missionary Neil Connors.
Celebrate Recovery was founded in 1991 by Pastor John Baker of SaddleBack Church with the goal of overcoming life’s issues with a twelve-step program based on christian principles. This recovery program addresses all types of habits, hurts and hang-ups. Other churches and some prisons implemented the program, and as of March 2004 more than 150,000 people are said to have participated.
Join me as a member of Celebrate Recovery, and share my experiences as I start a Celebrate Recovery Group in New York City.
Welcome to MissionSpeak Urban Missions! Have you ever wished you could go on a missionary trip but never had the time, funds, or otherwise the opportunity? Join me as I undertake a yearlong urban missions ministry in New York City. You will experience along with me what it is like to minister to the homeless, hopeless, and addicted. Find out why I am commissioned to go, who and what I encounter, and follow the ministry.
Philippians 2:9 – 11
9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
